Linda Pratesi is a PhD student in Evolutionary Biology and Ecology at the University of Florence, Italy. She has a strong background in molecular biology and direct experience in ancient DNA research. During her Master’s internship in forensic molecular anthropology, Linda developed advanced laboratory skills and became increasingly interested in evolutionary molecular anthropology, which is now central to her research interests.
Linda is currently hosted by the Jakobsson Lab for the research period abroad included in her PhD program. During the stay in Uppsala, she will work closely with the team to optimise DNA recovery from Somali archaeological samples. These samples are part of a project that aims to reconstruct the environmental and subsistence adaptations of Late Stone Age hunter-gatherers in Africa.
