One last minute news flash before the old year ends: Mattias got appointed as a Wallenberg Scholar for the coming 5 years. Big Congrats!!!

Alexandra Coutinho is defening her PhD thesis entitled “Where our feet have taken us. Examples of human contact, migration, and adaptation as revealed by ancient DNA” on the 17th of January at 1:15 pm, at Lindhalsalen, EBC, Uppsala University.

Helena spoke about Stone Age Scandinavia from an archaeogenetic perspective at the conference for Archeogenetics and Genetic Genealogy. Her talk can be seen here (at 1h 12min).

Mattias gave a short interview (in Swedish) about the health consequences associated with the transition from hunter-gatherers to farmers.

On October 17^th, 2019 Magdalena received a 3 year research grant from Riksbankens Jubileumsfond for the project “Gotland in the 3^rd millennium BCE”…Big Congrats!

Magdalena started a 2-year Post-doc with Helena in April 2019 working on the Alvastra project.
